Grace for our Community

about__content-image--we-are-charismatic

When Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment in the Jewish Law, his response was, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

At Church of the Holy Spirit, we see our immediate downtown community as our neighbor.  From supporting local business during the pandemic to caring for the homeless and poor on a regular basis, CHS is committed to care for the needs of others inasmuch as we are given resources to help.

Feeding Apopka’s Hungry

Feeding Apopka's Hungry is Church of the Holy Spirit's very own homeless feeding program.  A dedicated group from the church collects donations and food, and on every third Saturday serves the homeless in downtown Apopka.  They are provided with food, toiletries, and clothing.

Loaves and Fishes

Loaves & Fishes is a local foodbank serving low-income families and individuals each week since 1984.  They are supported by donations from local churches, schools, businesses, organizations, and individuals.  CHS is thankful to be able to support Loaves and Fishes and their mission to help families in Apopka.

Debbie Turner Cancer Center

The Debbie Turner Cancer Center's mission is “To diminish or eliminate suffering of cancer survivors, caregivers, children and families through community involvement and resources to establish and maintain hope.”

CHS has supported Debbie Turner as she and her organization has counseled and supported so many who are impacted by Cancer.
